Deposit Operations Specialist I

Remote - OSAGE BEACH, MO

Summary:

Coordinate with VP Deposit Operations Lead in implementing and carrying out bank policy and procedures with respect to overall deposit operations of First Bank of the Lake. This position’s primary responsibility is to perform a wide range of deposit operations and transaction processing duties.

 All positions at First Bank of the Lake require a high level of commitment to exceptional customer service and customer relationship development for internal and external customers. In addition, employees must possess the level of product knowledge necessary to effectively service and educate customers regarding the benefits of the Bank’s products and services and effectively promote them.

Job Functions:

  •  Balance and verify ACH reports and process items to be returned.
  • Process QuickRate requests and redemptions.
  • Process wire transfers (foreign & domestic)
  • Send out client notices.
  • Check stop payment forms against core or maintenance report.  Verify/review stop suspect report.
  • Verify Automated Fund Transfer and Sweep reports.
  • Reconcile any unpostable DDA or Savings transactions.
  • Manage dormancy and escheatment activities.
  • Process debit card requests, compromised cards, limit adjustments, maintenance and Reg E claims.
  • Address all inbound and outbound ACH Returns and NOCs.
  • Initiate, support and troubleshoot online and mobile banking.
  • Set up recurring automatic transfers.
  • Process and review file maintenance and exceptions.
  • Complete new account checkbacks.
  • Complete and review name and address changes.  Respond to audit requests (reports, pull sample documents, etc.)
  • Respond to legal requests including: levies, garnishments, and estate searches.
  • Perform occasional product testing.
  • Process death notifications.
  • Place and remove deposit holds as needed.
  • Serve as primary backup for Private Label Banking Activity.
  • Fulfill other job-related duties as requested.
  • Comply with all bank policies, regulations, and laws applicable to carrying out duties and responsibilities. 
  • Must complete all required training, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering training, suitable to their position within the bank.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge and experience with operating a computer (including MS product suite), calculator, and other general office equipment.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent social and communication skills:
    • Use professional and clear verbal communication skills.
    • High-quality writing skills, using accurate word usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation in all written correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and commit to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor while under stress.
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and written instructions, as well as verbal instructions or directions from a Supervisor.
  • Ability to quickly alternate tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to maintain diplomacy and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

 Work Arrangement:

  • This position is primarily remote but the candidate must be available to come into the Osage Beach office when needed.
  • Occasional travel may be required for in-person training or meetings.
